Where is the difference between the FS and V models?
This is easy to explain >>
FS > silver metallic with digital thermometer (not digital temperature control but only shows the “ACTUAL” value).
V > The “V” series replaces the previous “P” version.
Anthracite color, previous proven and extremely durable swing piston compressor as in the FS models!
Equipment as in the Platinum series, battery monitor, digital temperature control, interior light, new reinforced protective edges, wider, lockable closure.
The performance characteristics such as power consumption etc. are identical for all devices, whether FS or V.
A V has additional features, but the cooling performance, power consumption etc. are the same as an FS version.
Digital thermometer shows no values?
In normal cases, only the battery needs to be replaced. This is simple and should be done with a few steps. If needed, it’s recommended to check the user manual.
First, remove the lid of the box.
Then unscrew the two hinge mounts on the upper compressor ventilation grille, as well as the 2 screws on the back of the box.
Then carefully remove the black cover and turn it over.
Now you will see a white box containing the battery.
To open this, simply use a suitable screwdriver to turn the round disc counterclockwise and remove and replace the battery.
Assembly works in reverse order.

Aren’t cooling devices sensitive and require a fixed and level surface?
No! Unlike most cooling devices, ENGEL cooling devices have the unique swing compressor, which can easily handle angles of over 30° without losing its capacity.
Therefore, ENGEL cooling devices are particularly well-suited for tough demands and requirements (sailing with strong heeling, off-road driving).
Do I need to remove the 12 volt connection if I want to operate my cooling device with 230 volts?
No! All 230V cooling devices have an automatic priority circuit which guarantees that even if both voltages are present at the box, the 230 volt AC voltage always takes priority. This makes ENGEL cooling devices the ideal companion for all stations.
What cooling temperatures can I achieve with an ENGEL?
The Engel boxes are either normal or deep freezing devices (except combination units). Therefore, any desired temperature from +8°C to -18°C can be easily set using the thermostat.
How long is the warranty on Engel cooling devices?
For normal electrical appliances, there is usually only a 2-year warranty.
However, since Engel cooling devices have been offering the most reliable quality for over 50 years, we, as a long-standing market leader, provide a 3-year warranty, and even a 5-year warranty on the MT-V series.
I own an old ENGEL cooling device and need spare parts. Are they still available?
In most cases, YES! We have hundreds of spare parts in stock from all years and model series.
What should I consider when sending the device in for inspection?
You are welcome to send your device for inspection at any time. Please include a brief cover letter. In warranty cases, include a copy of the invoice. Make sure to choose suitable packaging and remove the handles if necessary.
What is included in the delivery?
For AC/DC devices, the 12/24 volt cable and the 230 volt cable are always included in the delivery. For coolers, the handles, screws, and a user and operating manual are also included in the delivery.
